Good Counselors

On May 14, 2012, in Bible Studies, Christian Living, Romans, by Bob Burridge

Biblical counsel is done by redeemed people admonishing one another as a family in Christ. Enabled by the Holy Spirit, and armed with God’s word, they persist, sometimes even in tears, to help even the weakest toward mature spiritually. Our love for one another is too dear, and our love for God is too overwhelming, to substitute superficial remedies for the real joy and peace promised to us in our Savior.

On March 26, 2012, in Bible Studies, Christian Living, Reformed Theology, Romans, by Bob Burridge

Our duty is to be responsible and godly citizens. We should elect leaders who will honor the boundaries and responsibilities God has placed upon civil authorities. We should pray for and encourage those who hold rightful offices, and we should honor their laws and leadership within the area of authority God has given to them.

The Poison of Revenge

On March 19, 2012, in Bible Studies, Christian Living, Romans, by Bob Burridge

When victims try to take justice into their own hands and take up vengeance aside from God-given authority, society descends into chaos rather than peace. We are told to overcome evil with good, and to live peaceably with all others when it is possible.

Genuine Christianity

On March 12, 2012, in Bible Studies, Christian Living, Romans, by Bob Burridge

To be a healthy part of the body of Christ serving in this present world, we need to know the kinds of things God tells us are best to be the objects of our highest affections.
